Boom Festival 2027 runs July 18–25 at Boomland by Idanha-a-Nova lake in inland Portugal. Plan it as a stay at or near the festival, with a separate journey from your arrival airport. Lisbon is useful before or after Boom; it is not a practical city base for a routine daily commute to this rural site.

Dates and ticket sales
The official festival site confirms the 2027 dates. Its ticket information lists Ambassador and Friendly Price sales from October 6, 2026, followed by online tickets on October 13 at 09:00 Portuguese continental time. Sales have limited allocations; an announcement is not proof that a particular ticket remains available.
Check which price category you qualify for and any required evidence directly with the organiser. Compare the final checkout total and the relevant conditions before committing to transport. This guide does not publish an unverified ticket-price estimate or promise entry through a third-party marketplace.
Airport transfer and local shuttle are different services
The organiser’s transport guide lists Boom Bus connections from Lisbon, Porto and Madrid airports. The Boom Bus information page says you need a festival ticket before purchasing bus travel, and that bookings are tied to time slots with limited capacity. Match your flight and luggage plans to the actual booking conditions.
These airport journeys are different from the local shuttles described between Boomland and Castelo Branco or Idanha-a-Nova. The organiser says local shuttle prices and timetables will be released closer to the festival. Do not infer an hourly service, a late return or a hotel pickup from the existence of a shuttle programme.
If assembling a public-transport route, check every connection for your exact day. The organiser describes access through Castelo Branco and warns that the onward public bus to Idanha-a-Nova operates on weekdays. Verify current timetables with the operators and resolve the final journey to the gate; arriving at a regional town is not the same as reaching your campsite.
Choose your sleeping arrangement first
For camping at Boom, read the current accommodation guidance before deciding what to bring or buy. Check what your admission includes and whether any pre-arranged tent or other accommodation requires a separate reservation. A festival ticket should not be treated as a booking for a particular tent, shaded pitch or rented sleeping kit.
If you prefer a room, start with the exact address in the Idanha-a-Nova region and a feasible journey to the site. Ask the property about check-in, transport arrangements and access after a late return. A hotel’s claim to be “near Boom” is not enough to establish walking distance or inclusion in an official shuttle route.
Monsanto and other nearby settlements can be interesting places for a separate regional visit. Compare road journeys and parking before pairing a rural stay with festival attendance. A destination photograph or a booking-map result does not identify an approved campsite or entrance.
Compare rooms around Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal. Verify the exact property location and your transport before booking.
Compare Lisbon stays before or after Boom. These city stays are separate from festival accommodation.
Flights: compare the full journey
Compare Lisbon (LIS), Porto (OPO) and Madrid (MAD) against your origin, dates and available onward transport. Add checked baggage and any night you need before a booked departure. For a connection from Spain, pay attention to the local time shown on each flight and bus ticket.
Avoid planning the airport transfer from a fixed “three-hour” estimate. Boarding, road conditions and festival entry can all affect your arrival. Leave a margin after landing and before your flight home; do not assume that an early return departure from Boomland can meet any same-day flight.
Compare flights and select Lisbon (LIS), Porto (OPO) or Madrid (MAD).
Heat, equipment and a long stay
Pack for time outdoors and for carrying your belongings between transport and your sleeping area. Check the forecast close to departure, plan sun protection and rest, and follow the event’s current water, fire and permitted-equipment guidance. Confirm whether any shade structure or camping accessory you intend to bring is allowed.
Do not assume the payment arrangements from an earlier edition will apply. Check the current instructions for purchases, accepted payment methods and any on-site account system. Keep enough flexibility for travel outside the festival as well as your planned on-site spending.
A budget you can actually compare
List admission, return travel, bus or car costs, your complete sleeping arrangement, meals, equipment and a reserve. If hiring a car, include parking, insurance choices and fuel before comparing it with a booked bus. For a room outside the site, include every return journey during your stay.
Compare the total for the whole party, not just the cheapest advertised room or airfare. Check change and cancellation conditions on each purchase. Our music trip planner offers sample budgets and searches, rather than a verified Boom package price.
Watch Boom’s official films
Explore the official Boom film library, linked by the organiser. It contains documentaries and footage from previous editions, including the 2018 film Telúrica. Use it to understand the setting and atmosphere; it does not confirm the programme or physical layout for 2027.
Optional travel booking tools
- Compare a private airport transfer quotation; confirm the operator can serve your exact destination.
- Compare an eSIM and check device compatibility.
- Compare car hire for your wider regional trip; check the festival access and parking arrangements separately.
Other music trips to compare
Our Ozora guide covers another psytrance trip with separate dates and logistics. For an indoor alternative, the ASOT Rotterdam guide explains the Ahoy location and city transport. Do not assume tickets or transfers connect these events.
