Welcome to Rockville turns Daytona International Speedway into an outdoor festival destination for four days. A beach hotel, a room near the speedway and a campsite each produce a different trip. Choose the overnight base and the return journey together before deciding whether a lower Orlando airfare is worth the onward transfer.

The festival and the travel nights

The organiser and Daytona International Speedway confirm 6–9 May 2027. The venue is at 1801 West International Speedway Boulevard, Daytona Beach. Use the current official pass page for admission; a hotel booking, parking pass or campsite is a separate part of the trip unless expressly bundled.

A full-event hotel itinerary could run from Wednesday 5 May to Monday 10 May. That gives you an arrival night before Thursday and a departure day after Sunday. If you are attending only part of the programme, match the ticket days first and wait for the current running order before buying a tight flight connection around one artist.

Daytona airport or Orlando?

The festival identifies Daytona Beach (DAB) and Orlando International (MCO) as useful airports. Compare the complete journey to your accommodation, including baggage, the road transfer and the time of arrival. An Orlando fare can look attractive until a late landing requires an extra transfer or airport-area overnight stay.

DAB can shorten the ground journey if the flight schedule works for your departure city. MCO may offer a different range of connections, but should be compared with the real cost of reaching Daytona. For a rental car, allow time for collection and check whether your hotel charges for overnight parking.

Choose between the speedway area and the beach

A room near the speedway can reduce daily travel, while a beach-side stay can make a longer Florida holiday appealing. Test each property’s actual route to the festival entrance. Being close to the speedway perimeter does not guarantee a short or suitable pedestrian route to your assigned gate.

Ask about late check-in, cancellation terms and any claimed event shuttle. If buying an official hotel package, read its current admission and transport inclusions; do not assume every room sold in Daytona belongs to that package. For a family or group, compare the full stay and vehicle costs rather than a single-night rate.

Camping starts before the main programme

The current camping information lists normal opening at noon on Wednesday 5 May and closure at noon on Monday 10 May, subject to change. Early arrival requires the appropriate product. It also states that festival admission must be purchased separately from a camping pass.

Match an RV reservation to the correct pitch and utility specification. Dedicated RV areas require an RV, and the organiser notes that hookups are included only where specified. A car-and-tent booking is a different product. For rented equipment, confirm delivery and collection within the allowed window before signing the rental agreement.

Driving, rideshare and leaving the grounds

Use the organiser’s parking information for the current entrance and purchase rules. Save the latest map before setting out and distinguish parking access from admission. The festival information still shows a 2026 map heading, so an old screenshot should not determine your final 2027 gate or pickup location.

For rideshare, agree a pickup area and leave time to walk there after the performance. Do not schedule the driver for the exact minute a headliner is expected to finish. If staying at the beach, account for the journey back to the hotel before selecting a very early airport transfer the following morning.

Make the outdoor weekend manageable

The organiser warns that severe weather can interrupt or evacuate the event. Follow its alerts and staff instructions rather than treating a rain-or-shine description as a promise that every set will continue. Keep essential documents protected and agree a meeting plan with your group.

Bring hearing protection, comfortable footwear and items allowed by the current entry rules. Keep sightseeing modest during the four concert days; add a separate beach day if you want one. Before leaving home, recheck the admission product, campground or hotel confirmation, updated map and the route back from the final night.

Compare flights for your route

Compare flights to Orlando International. Check dates, baggage and the complete onward journey before booking.
