Festival dates and early arrival
The organiser’s 2.7 poster confirms Tolmin on 10–13 August 2027. Its Festival ABC separately describes early arrival from 7 August, including a Monday warm-up under the early-arrival conditions. A listing that begins on 9 August may therefore describe the warm-up rather than the main festival period.
The current ABC says the camp opens on 7 August and closes at noon on 14 August, with standard camping beginning on 10 August for valid festival-ticket holders. Check the final conditions before booking extra nights: arriving earlier changes your costs, and the last music night is not the same as campsite checkout day.
Getting to Tolmin
The festival identifies Ljubljana, Trieste and Venice as airport options. Compare a complete airport-to-Tolmin transfer before choosing the cheapest flight. Ljubljana is the initial destination in our flight search, but an alternative airport can make sense if a suitable transfer is available for your arrival time.
The organiser links to an independent shuttle company; that service is not operated by the festival itself. Confirm the pickup, luggage allowance, flight-delay policy and return time with the provider. For public transport, the official guidance describes Most na Soči railway station followed by a bus to Tolmin. The station is not the festival gate.
Choose the right camping entrance
The ABC distinguishes parking-and-camping from camping-only areas. The Cemetery entrance and the Hofer entrance serve different arrangements, while the Dijaška approach is not a general visitor shortcut. Check the current map and tell your driver which entrance matches your ticket and vehicle plans.
If staying in a room, search Tolmin first and then examine neighbouring properties individually. A place farther up the valley may look close on a map but still need a prearranged ride after the last set. Confirm access and parking with the host, and avoid making an unverified late bus your only way home.
Cash at arrival and the PayCard
The festival operates a PayCard system, while the arrival instructions specifically call for cash for certain initial charges. The ABC also distinguishes early-arrival fees, parking, deposits, local camping charges and optional showers or lockers. Make a list of the services you actually need and check their current prices before travelling.
There is no ATM inside the festival area according to the organiser. Plan access to cash in Tolmin before joining an entry queue, and review the PayCard refund process while it is still easy to find the relevant cashier. Do not assume that a cashless bar means every arrival payment can be made with a bank card.
Build the valley stay around the music
For a straightforward visit, arrive before your first festival day and depart after packing on 14 August. Add extra valley time as a separate part of the trip, with accommodation covering those nights. A day exploring the area works better before the festival than between late performances and an early transfer.
Pack practical shoes, layers, sun protection and hearing protection, and follow local instructions around the river. Save the entrance map and transfer confirmation offline. The official website video below provides atmosphere only; its title does not identify an edition, so it is not presented as footage from 2027.
