Electric Castle’s 2026 edition has ended. The official site and 2027 rules currently specify July 2027 at Bánffy Castle in Bonțida, near Cluj-Napoca, Romania. A castle festival with a separate city base
The setting at Bánffy Castle is the reason to consider this trip, but the festival is not in central Cluj-Napoca. Treat the airport-to-city journey and the city-to-festival journey as separate decisions. A city hotel gives you restaurants and a private room; camping can reduce commuting if the next edition’s camping product suits you.
Do not transfer the logistics of UNTOLD in Cluj-Napoca to Electric Castle. Both can use the same arrival airport, but their venues and access arrangements differ. Choose between them using confirmed dates, programmes and the complete cost of your stay.
Flights and airport transport
Start with flights to Cluj-Napoca (CLJ). Compare baggage, arrival time and the first available onward transport. If you consider another airport, price the entire transfer to Cluj or Bonțida before choosing it. A cheap flight to a distant city can add a long journey and an extra overnight stay.

Previous editions used combinations of festival buses and rail connections, but a 2027 train, pickup point, fare or all-night service is not verified here. The old 35 LEI combined-transport quote has therefore been removed. Check the organiser’s new instructions before choosing accommodation around a supposed shuttle stop.
When the plan is released, check your outward departure, the return after your last set and any separate transport ticket. Save an offline map and a meeting point. If sharing a taxi, agree on the booking and pickup arrangements and obtain a current quote; a historical fare is not a guarantee during an event.

Use the official ticket shop for the current pass price and read its fees and conditions. Camping, transport, equipment rental and the event pass may be separate products. Build a budget from actual airfare, the full accommodation quote, the chosen ticket products, daily food and local transport, plus a contingency. Allow a separate Transylvania day
Cluj’s centre makes a useful place to recover between travel and the festival. If you want a separate visit to Salina Turda or Cheile Turzii, check the operator’s hours, admission or access conditions, weather and transport before deciding to combine them. Avoid a tight sightseeing itinerary before an evening for which you have already bought a ticket.
