Transmission is an arena trance production with editions in several countries. Its Prague history does not confirm a forthcoming Prague event. Check the date-and-city correction below before using this guide to arrange a Czech city break.

Transmission Prague: the date and city correction

No forthcoming Prague edition was verified in the official pages checked on September 11, 2026. The O2 arena page is an archive for June 15, 2024. The organiser’s November 28, 2026 listing is for GelreDome in Arnhem, Netherlands. It must not be used to book Prague flights or accommodation.

Keep a Prague city trip separate

If Prague is your destination regardless of Transmission, choose a cancellable room around the places you want to visit. A stay near O2 arena is useful for a confirmed event there, while a central base can suit a wider city break. Neither choice confirms that Transmission is returning to that venue.

If a future O2 arena show is announced

The arena’s own transport information identifies nearby Českomoravská metro and Praha-Libeň rail connections. Check current service changes through Prague Integrated Transport. Plan the return for the actual finishing time: an easy daytime metro journey is not evidence that the same service will be running after the show. Compare the walk to your hotel or a separately arranged ride before paying.

Check three details together

  1. Match the city and venue on the organiser’s page and your ticket.
  2. Match the year and date before booking flights; a same-brand event in another country is a separate trip.
  3. Read the admission and refund terms from the seller linked by the organiser. General resale search links on this guide do not establish an official Prague sale.

If your only reason for travelling is Transmission, wait for an official Prague announcement or deliberately plan the confirmed Netherlands event instead.

When to go: the music calendar

  • Transmission Prague status: no forthcoming Prague date was verified on September 11, 2026. The O2 arena listing is for June 15, 2024; the November 28, 2026 organiser listing belongs to Arnhem in the Netherlands.
  • The sound — pure trance, progressive and tech-trance, with the genre’s biggest names playing to a single arena. No clashing stages, no choosing — everyone faces one colossal stage together.
  • The spectacle — Transmission is famous for its scenography: synchronized lasers, pyro, and a story-driven visual show built around each year’s theme. It’s as much a production as a concert.

Do not choose Prague travel dates from an older edition or another country’s Transmission listing. Wait for a matching organiser announcement, venue and ticket page.

Where to stay (matched to your trip)

  • Near the O2 Arena (Libeň / Českomoravská) — stay close to the venue (metro Line B, Českomoravská station) for the easiest post-show trip home. Most convenient on the night.
  • City centre (Old Town / New Town) — base in the historic core for sightseeing, bars and restaurants, then ride the metro straight to the arena (about 10–15 minutes). Best for a full Prague weekend.
  • Žižkov — Prague’s lively, affordable nightlife district, an easy hop to both the centre and the O2 Arena; good value beds and plenty of bars.

Getting around

Use the official Prague Integrated Transport planner for the correct route and ticket. O2 arena is near Českomoravská station; check current service changes and the night journey separately. Buying a ticket from a contactless machine is not the same as assuming every vehicle accepts an automatic bank-card tap-in.

Pack for your actual travel dates and check the forecast shortly before departure. Check the current metro or night-service route if your confirmed show finishes late.

Airport transfer

Want a fixed-price ride straight from PRG to your hotel after landing? Pre-book a private transfer rather than queueing for a taxi.

→ Pre-book a private airport transfer with Kiwitaxi

Stay connected: get an eSIM

Skip pricey roaming — a local data eSIM keeps maps, transit apps, the event info and mobile tickets working the moment you land.

→ Get an Airalo eSIM for the Czech Republic

Explore by car

Thinking of a day trip to Kutná Hora, Český Krumlov or the Czech countryside around the festival? A rental makes it easy — though in Prague itself the metro and walking are far better than driving.

→ Compare and book a rental car

Illustrative budget — independent three-night Prague trip

Illustrative planning allowances, not live quotes or verified 2027 ticket, room or transfer prices. Replace them with current quotes; avoid double-counting package inclusions.

ItemBudgetMid-range
Flights (within Europe)$70$240
Hotel/hostel (3 nights)$150$420
Possible event admission allowance, not a current Transmission quote$80$150
Food + drinks$90$220
Transit, transfer, eSIM$50$110
Total~$440~$1,140

Prague is one of Europe’s best-value city breaks — food, beer and transport are cheap, so most of your budget is the flight and the ticket.

Money-saving tips

  • Buy event tickets through the seller linked by the organiser, after matching the edition, city and venue.
  • Compare actual flight and room quotes for your chosen Prague dates; no seasonal saving is guaranteed.
  • Stay in Žižkov for cheaper rooms with easy metro access to the arena.
  • Eat and drink in local pubs away from the Old Town Square tourist strip — far better value (and better beer).
  • Use the metro rather than taxis; the O2 Arena is right on Line B.
  • Pay in koruna and decline “pay in your home currency” card prompts to dodge bad exchange rates.

Plan your Transmission trip

Plan a Prague trip only after deciding whether the city itself or a separately confirmed event is your reason for travelling. Keep event-dependent bookings flexible until that event is announced.
